It was late autumn and an almighty storm had just passed overhead, drenching us on our daily walk. Dazzling, low-slung sunshine streamed through the bruised purple clouds, turning the lane to molten gold. It was too bright to look at so I aimed my phone in the general direction of the view and hoped for the best. The resulting image, totally unexpectedly, was a stunner. Here's my painting of it: a narrow, winding Devon lane after the rain.
