Frosty autumn landscape

Once the trees lose their leaves, the landscape shines through. I love the way the delicate  tracery of the bare branches sits against the colours of the fields. I painted this, in acrylics, to celebrate the countryside's natural gorgeousness at a time of year that can easily feel gloomy and dark. Look closer at any winter view and the bleakness offers a strange beauty of its own.
