South Downs view

I've been fascinated by this view for years, looking north over the Downs from the top of the Falmer Road in Woodingdean, Brighton. Maybe it's something to do with the way the dark stand of trees sits in the landscape, and the rounded Downland. I made the original painting in acrylics and mixed media, capturing the texture of the field at my feet in detail and giving the whole thing a sunset glow.
