After the storm in Devon
I painted this Devon landscape in acrylics after a dramatic 'named storm', the infamous Beast From the East. It wasn't just scarily windy, the weather brought deep snow to rural Devon, and the ragged remains of the snow stuck around for days after it finally began to melt. I gave the painting a red background hinting at the spring warmth to come, and used bold brush strokes to suggest the wind's movement.
